I want to know who these people are that think the food here is any good and have rated it so high. My wife and I have been looking for a decent chinese food spot here in Fort Lauderdale for quite some time. After seeing the great reviews here on yelp, we decided to give this place a try. I am sorry to say but the food was horrible... Quite possibly the worst chinese food I've had out here so far. We ordered the general tso chicken along with some special fried rice and even some spicy tuna sushi. None of it had any flavor whatsoever. It was completely bland. The chicken was actually made with nice thick white meat but again, it had no flavor. Even after drowning my rice in soy sauce and covering my chicken in extra general tso sauce, it still had no flavor. The only way to get any kind of flavor was to start adding duck sauce to everything but if I just wanted to eat duck sauce, I wouldn't have paid over $28 for all this food. Let me just tell you, I never leave reviews for products or restaurants whether I had a great experience or a bad one. But after being tricked into eating food from this place by the reviews here, I felt it was only fair to try and discourage anyone from buying food at this place. Take the time and drive an extra couple of miles to a better place... Any place but here. BEWARE!!!

I had it for the first time last Friday and fell in love with it. The food was delicious and the service was great. In, out and affordable. Yum!!

The food was delicious and the delivery was very fast! I think their sauces are all home made (Duck, Sweet n Sour, etc). I recommend it!

Love this place. Spicy tuna roll has big pieces of tuna. Nice white meat in chicken dishes.

I ordered take-out from Yeung on New Year's Eve for the first time after reading some good reviews on Yelp. And I agree with the other reviewers - it was the best quality chinese takeout I've had in a long time. We stuck to the standards - orange chicken, pork fried rice, egg rolls, and wonton soup. All was delicious and good quality white meat chicken. Will definitely order again. And - a great price to boot. For a little over $18, they have a family special that is more than enough for two. Very quick and friendly delivery.

This has been my local Chinese take out/delivery place for a while now, great tasting food, I love their Pork fried rice! and the Japanese menu is not bad either. Super fast delivery. Please keep in mind this is not a 5-star restaurant, it is cheap Chinese takeout - I give it 5 stars for what it is.

We came down last night to an early appointment the next day. By a friends recommendation we called and had the food delivered to our room at the Marriott it was like having room service. Sushimi Roll was awesome, spicy tuna roll delicious ask for some vegetable spring rolls, they were the bomb. No menu no problem go online for their menu. Friendly phone service delivery right to our door.

Disgusting!! Some of the worst Chinese take out I've ever had. The only thing my kids would touch was the steamed rice. My Kung pao chicken was extremely bland even after I asked for it extra spicy. Horrible horrible horrible!!!

This place is the most disgusting, rank, nasty, gross place I have ever ordered food from!!! I had it last night normally I wait til I have a bunch of places to yelp- but omg I had to do this one first thing!!! I think well am pretty sure I have food poisoning!!! My boyfriend had sweet and sour chicken- we were unclear if it was chicken or cat!! The sauce was not sweet nor sour it tasted like dirty feet ( I would assume) it had like a plastic taste or something who knows! I had the dim sum and umm I think it may have been filled with road kill!! It was nasty!! It was clumpy hard chewy- I can't even explain it- I want to just puke everywhere thinking about it!! Don't waste your money or energy at this joint!! I bet you the Chinese food out of the can from the grocery store is way better- and for those people who said it was amazing the best they ever had ummm don't know what real food tastes like!!!! GARBAGE!!!!!!!

My quest to find decent Chinese food in South Florida continued tonight with the shredded pork in garlic sauce dinner combo. The egg drop soup was decent, the egg roll was average and the fried rice was "meh"...but the main dish was quite good actually. Overall portion size was sad for the price though. Would I come back? For now, until I find something better. But a good value, I don't think so.

This place is takeout or delivery only. SUPER NICE people. I believe the owner has been in business since the 80s and has recently changed from a large sit down place to a take out, delivery business as a result of the economy. We visit from Ohio many times a year and this is the first time we have found good Chinese in Fort Lauderdale. If entrees are tasty and served piping hot and the appetizers are fresh. There are a lot to choose from. If you like spicy, make sure to tell them. They'll give you an extra cup of red pepper oil that makes it as spicy as you like. We picked up, but the owner said that they deliver to the guest houses on the beach which is great if you feel like an evening in! Nice people. Tasty food. Fast service. It's definitely worth a try.

The Yelp address listed is incorrect - they moved over three years ago. They aren't far but for this service to be truly useful it needs to be updated more frequently.

First experience and I must admit the food was very good. Soup..egg rolls..rice...chicken all fresh and delicious.

    (4)
  • Eric T.

I have no idea how anyone can give this dump more than one star. The only thing I can come up with is this must be the first place they had dined after a several decade prison stint. WORST Chinese food I have ever had. The most disgusting sweet and sour sauce I have ever encountered. I am sure you won't hear any cats meowing in the alley behind this dump.

    (1)
  • T T.

I've tried this place 3 times due to the reviews here. Each time got the same results. The egg rolls have a very think shell and greasy taste which drowns out any filling. The curry chicken was awful. The szechwan chicken is decent but nothing to rave about. I've had frozen microwave dinners that were better.

  • James G.

It should not be hard to find Chinese food in a city the size of Fort Lauderdale but alas it took me a good solid 5 months to find Yeung house. Ladies and Gentlemen my search has ended. Yeung is well priced, good quality and quick delivery. what more can a guy ask for from his Chinese food provider.

  • Bek B.

Great, affordable Chinese take-out. Always very good quality and quantity, by far the best Chinese in the area.

    (5)
  • Gregg -.

Great food, vast menu of Chinese and Japanese items, wonderful service and very friendly. Prices are very competitive, portions are good. I love the chili oil they provide. I just wish I could find a Thai version of Yeung House!

    (5)
  • Mabel T.

I literally just signed up for a yelp account just so I could review how awful the food was. I've read reviews on yelp about how good yeung house was and I live a few minutes away so I thought I'd give it a shot. Needless to say, I was completely disappointed. I got a spicy tuna roll, general sho's chicken and house special fried rice. The roll was tasteless and smothered in spicy sauce. The rice was full of ingredients but it had absolutely no flavor even after drenching it in soy sauce. The chicken although had decent pieces of white meat, was ok but nothing to rave about. Overall, the food was lacking seasoning and therefore flavorless. I'd rather drive to my other further spots than go here.

    (1)
  • D. H.

I should have heeded the reviews but it was the only thing open late one evening. Tasteless is the key word here - uniquely tasteless - weirdly tasteless - like a geriatric low sodium/non fat diet tasteless. I curse the day that ubiquitous yuppy Caucasian couple walked into their local Chinese place sometime in the late 80's, early 90's and complained about MSG (an ingredient used in Asia for over 100 years - no it doesn't cause headaches and nausea - countless studies have NEVER made that connection - much like the "Gluten" paranoia of today, its all in your head) and animal fat (an ingredient used in Asia for over 1000 years) as being "unhealthy". This is the result.

  • Jessica S.

I love their food! Every time I order it's ALWAYS hot and fresh. Good service also. I was hungry and in the mood for Chinese and definitely haven't had Yeung House in over a year. I'm glad I chose this place instead of other places.

  • Tony L.

Always consistent. I've ordered from here about 35 to 40 times and they have only messed up once and the lady was real nice about it.. She's been here for 10 years at this location but has been in the business much longer. She sounds a little mean over the phone but she is an absolute sweetheart and the food is always fresh and delicious. I've never ordered anything I didn't like. Although the Gyoza and the dumplings are a dollar difference pay the dollar for the dumplings.. So worth it.. All in all this place is awesome Chinese take out and they have really fast delivery.. It's so hard to find but they've nailed it.. Thank you for your consistency yueng house! You guys are awesome!

  • Danielle R.

Not that great to be honest. We get GrubHub delivery quite a bit form work and we got a bunch of food from here last Friday. I will say it was VERY hot. The wonton soup was ok, the chicken friend rice was very bland, the fried chicken was over battered, and the eggroll (for me and 2 others was inedible-it almost tasted 'bad'). I'd look for another place.

Yeung House is strictly a takeout and delivery restaurant; probably for good reason. If you go inside and actually see the place like I did, you probably wouldn't want to eat in there anyway. On takeout I've had their Moo Goo Gai Pan and their General Tso's chicken. As I had expected both were overly sweet, rather bland, tasteless and typifying what is most often considered to be New York Chinese, a far cry from actual Chinese or having much of anything to do with the real foods of China. Though people take issue with me on this, it wasn't until the 1970's that General Tao's chicken even appeared on the scene. It was specifically created at Peng's Restaurant on East 44th Street as an Americanized derivation of the foods of Hunan by Chef Peng Jia, and as such, something I can assure you never touched the lips of General Tso and would also be totally unrecognizable as Chinese if served in China. The Yeung House menu is so extensive, containing so many varying dishes, I would have serious doubts they could all be mastered by any chef. And, unless Yeung House is into losing money hand over foot, there is no way they could actually be serving anything even remotely related to what is actually Peking Duck as a purported entrée for two at $33.95 as their menu states. The expense of the proper force-fed duck alone is too great even without a consideration of the time and labor it would involve. Basically, their takeout out or delivered food, which is the only way it comes, consists of cheap imitation, read Americanized, Chinese food, commonly known as New York Chinese. And then, even for what it is, cheap Americanized Chinese takeout, it isn't all that great.

chicken chow mein, was definitely NOT chicken chow mein. Not sure what they gave us...but it wasn't bad. Food was plentiful and overall really bland. Wonton soup was not good. It was yellowish (as in pee) colored. Wontons were not worth consuming.

  • Tom M.

We ordered take-out & we were really disappointed. We each ordered a dinner special, one was supposed to come with soup, both were supposed to come with an egg or spring roll. We returned to our hotel, & found the food wasn't well packed, & had leaked. They did not include utensils, & forgot one of the spring rolls. To top it all off, what we did get wasn't very good. We were both displeased.

Yeung house sushi is so good, customer service is great, you get big big portions and the fish to rice ratio is perfect!!

  • Ana B.

My review is only for the delivery service/ food. The person who answered the phone had no patience, I'd say a little rude and way too practical for a customer service, I'm afraid to call again, but the food was delivered fast and delish, I will anyways Haha, that is why I'm taking one star off. We ordered the Special Rice and the Shredded Garlic Chicken, came with white rice as well and a couple of fried strips and different sauces that I haven't tried. The rice was REALLY good, and as I mention in other review, I'm not a big fan of Chinese food, anyways, it's full of everything, and very flavorful. The chicken is actually stripes and not shredded, comes with veggies, carrots, green beans, mushrooms and three other kinds that I don't know the name, little spice brown sauce, not hot, just a little kick, It was delicious and would definitely would order again. If you're hungry and need a tasty food with a quick delivery... I totally recommend it!!

Worst service ever. Don't order from this place!! We waited three hours for our food and we called several times to check the status. They told us it was on the way for the last hour. Finally, get someone on the phone and the order had never been put in the computer. Three hours of waiting and no compensation to offer a free meal or anything. Don't order from here! The manager gets on the phone and tells me "it's funny" and then hangs up. The lady was extremely rude.

  • Kassandra H.

I wish I could give zero stars. I got about 6 different thing and all of it was bland. The wonton soup tasted like someone just threw up chicken bully on cubes into a cup of tap water and half wast even cooked fully. Will not be ordering from here again

  • Olivier D.

One of the main reasons I come here is because it's close to my house. I've had some good experiences with the flavors and the food. But I can't say it's standing out between all the other Asian restaurants in FLL. I've only had their Chinese dishes haven't tried the sushi choices yet, mainly because they aim a bit expensive for a take out place and I never see any orders go out when I pick up my order. In short; worth it if you are not looking for the top level but still want to pay $$ for an entree

    (3)
  • Heather B.

We order delivery from here at least 3x a month. They are quick and their food is good. The shrimp fried rice is our favorite dish!

  • Lydia A.

These guys (and gals) are awesome. We've tried a few other Chinese delivery places around town and nothing compares. They have the usual Chinese food menu, but it all is more authentic. I love that the fried noodles come with the sweet sauce (I think it is a type of duck sauce). We usually order on Eat24, which means you can order online then they deliver it. If you have any special instructions for the food Yeung House will call to make sure they understand it correctly, which I think is great because it ensures that we get the right food, the way we want it. I think we're done testing out other delivery places because Yeung House continues to rank number one in our book.

I LITERALLY ALWAYS have the best food here ! Being from NYC it's really hard to find great Chinese or even good in any other place, but this spot is LEGIT! I always get the stuffed eggplant app and the shrimp friend rice. Soooooo yummy! I've had other noodle dishes from there as well, everything always taste amazing and very flavor and not salty. I tried the sushi rolls my last time there but didn't prefer it. I would recommend there food, 100%.

  • David L.

I've ordered from this place 3 times and each time the food has not been very good. The General Tsao's is soggy and is rather bland, even though I ordered it medium spicy. The broccoli that comes with it is completely soggy. The sweet and sour chicken was also not very good. Extremely doughy and bland flavor. Same blandness comes with the chicken fried rice. The chunks of chicken are tiny and there is only a bit of egg. I like to be able to actually see the vegetables, egg, and meat that are added to fried rice. Also, it always takes at least an hour for the food to arrive. On a positive note the hot and sour soup is decent with lots of chunks, as are the egg rolls. The price is also reasonable. The only reason I keep ordering from here is because you can order online. Last night was the last time I will do that, however. I need to try somewhere else.

My family was in and ordered from this place instead of my usual Chinese takeout place. We used delivery and the order process was simple and the food arrived faster than promised. The fried rice is great. It has a great flavor and the pork pieces were plentiful. The egg roll was standard and kind of on the dry side. Lastly the Lo Mein (my fave) was not at all as I'm accustomed to. It fell into the under sauced trap that many restaurants seem to suffer from. The veggies were a different variety than I've ever seen in Lo Mein before. I guess it was fine, but didn't live up to my expectations. All in all this was a fast and friendly restaurant with decent food. The fried rice is something I will order again. However I probably wouldn't choose this over my usual place again.

Not bad. Food was ok if not MSG-infested. It took a long time to get there, yet the driver was nice. Overall, not bad portions at a not bad price.

  • Meghan S.

I've ordered delivery from Yeung House twice in the last week, my boyfriend and I love it! Their veggie spring rolls are so good and filled with lots of real vegetables, that's hard to find these days. Also the sauces they provide for dipping are so delicious. I've ordered their veggie fried rice both times and was not disappointed, they use real vegetables and they pack it with them. You can tell this place is using real meats and real veggies AND they're reasonably priced. If you want good Chinese delivery then order Yeung House!

    (5)
  • Ken P.

Of all the delivery places in my area, this one is the best. Fast. Plus, the food is really good. I've never been disappointed. The house egg foo young is the best. The poo poo plater is delicious, too. Not greasy like lots of others I've tried. The tempura is not so great, only because it doesn't seem to do well as far as take out goes. Gets way too greasy. Don't be put off by the woman who answers the phone and takes the order. She's not friendly sounding at all, but very efficient. I've met her in person twice when we stopped in to place the order and she is much different meeting her than when she's on the phone. Prices are reasonable, too.

    (4)
  • Katie G.

Huge portions, but everything aside from the chicken fried rice was absolutely flavorless. The ingredients were anything but fresh- canned mushrooms (really??) and super dark peapods (frozen? overcooked?)- definitely not bright green with a little crunch that we are used to. Dry, dry, dry egg rolls. Average wonton soup. We were visiting ft lauderdale and ordered this to our hotel. Overall, convenient, late night delivery option, good value (tons of food for about $20), just very bland and not so fresh.

  • Timothy M.

Ordered through Eat24: It's been and hour and 20 minutes and STILL haven't received my order. I called the restaurant and they reviewed my order and said it was on the way. That was 20 minutes ago! What's going on?!

Ordered soft shell crab roll and 2 egg sushi as a second chance order(first order they forgot stuff)The soft shell crab was fried in nasty old oil and the egg sushi was moist and water logged.....Never again!!!!

I have always received great service and delicious food here. I know I'm not alone in loving this place because, especially on weekends, they are always busy. I know Chinese food is often subjective but they have never disappoint.

Tasty food! More expensive then other Chinese takeout restaurants, but its better quality

  • Blake C.

Bleh, I ordered delivery, it was prompt and still extremely hot. The delivery guy was pretty friendly. I got the sweet and sour chicken... The portions were large, the chicken came separate from the sauce which was a little different for me. The breading on the chicken reminded me of funnel cake. I could eat about half of it until I started feeling grossed out. I will say the chicken was white meat and the cuts of meat were of good quality. I honestly could have paid half the price and had a way better meal at pei Wei. Eh, I won't be trying this spot anymore. Not quite what I was hoping for, especially at 15 bucks with delivery and tip.

    (2)
  • Gloria S.

Excellent food. Always delivered hot. Would give 5stars if they would have 1person answer the phone & take orders, while the owner runs the rest. It's very difficult to give your order while she's loudly controlling everything in your ear.

We ordered and some items didn't arrive. What did arrive was terrible!!!! It is below average Chinese food!!! The staff hung up on us twice when calling about the missing items. The other food was so bad that we didn't even want it.

Had take out and was excited to order from Yeung House SAD to say it came warm at bast and the chicken was beyond rubber. Called to ask them what was going on and the BEST she would do is argue with me and tell me if I would bring it back shed help me. guess What??? I ordered TAKE OUT for a reason . NEVER again go somewhere that CARES about their patrons. No respect for this place. ACW. Ft l

I ordered take-out from Yeung House a week or so. I was kind of hesitant but gave it a shot. I'm so glad I did. My food was ready promptly and the owner, a sweet Asian lady was so friendly. She had everything packed nicely for me and she told me how they have been in business since 1987. The prices were excellent and the food was great. I only ordered sushi and it was pretty good. I will definitely order from them again.

I pass by this place often. Figured I would get a lunch combo. I was the only person there placing a takeout order. Wait time was kinda long. Several others arrived to pick up since they called ahead. Cashier was really nice. I kinda thought the menu was about $2 overpriced on everything. Food was just okay and small portion. I had General Tso chicken, rice, and an eggroll. It was not bad but nothing I have to do again.

    (3)
  • Brian B.

We visited from NYC, which has great Chinese food, but I have to say this place was really great! The chicken had no fat and was white meat throughout every piece. Sesame and orange chicken was very fresh, and didn't taste like the syrup sauce out of a can. Great wonton soup and egg rolls. Pleasantly surprised with this carry out!!!

    (5)
  • Clinesha J.

Never again. The woman that answered was so rude. Snapped at me that she had already told me the specials when in fact I had very in my life spoken to her before that call. Then my order was COMPLETELY wrong. I don't know what she heard or understood when I placed my order and my meal was COMPLETLY bland! I took 2, count them, 2 bites and it went in the trash. My co-worker shared his garlic chicken which was passable but the rice was tented yellow with NO FLAVOR. Good-bye!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
